Zara White suspects there's a freaky guy semi-stalking her. She's also obsessed with phobias. And it's true, she hasn't exactly been herself since her stepfather died. But exiling her to shivery Maine to live with her grandmother? That seems a bit extreme. The move is supposed to help her stay sane...but Zara's pretty sure her mom just can't deal with her right now.
She couldn't be more wrong. Turns out the semi-stalker is not a figment of Zara's overactive imagination. In fact, he's still following her, leaving behind an eerie trail of gold dust. There's something not right - not human - in this sleepy Maine town, and all signs point to Zara.
In this creepy, compelling breakout novel, Carrie Jones delivers romance, suspense, and a creature you never thought you'd have to fear

My Thoughts
Need was a book I devoured. I knew from the very first page that I would love it. The whole story line and everything was absolutely up to scratch.

I love Zara. I love her name. It's quite cliche how she moves to a new school and all but that didn't matter at all. The events that followed and the action that had occurred was indeed mind blowing.

Nick is just awesome. I love his personality and character. He's just really great! I just knew whilst reading about him that he would be the one and also his transformation in front of Zara and the moment and everything was so cute!

One thing that I absolutely loved was how Jones included phobias that Zara suffered from. I loved reading each and every one! It was great to learn more and understand more about Zara's character.

Jones created a world of suspense and drama as it kept me engaged and wanting to read more and more. It is a entertaining and quick read. I have to read more, and so I await for Captivate!

Elsewhere is where 15-year-old Liz Hall ends up, after she has died. It is a place so like Earth, yet completely different from it. Here Liz will age backward from the day of her death until she becomes a baby again and returns to Earth. Is it possible that a life lived in reverse is no different from a life lived forward?

My Thoughts
WOW! Elsewhere is a complete stunner of a book! The whole concept of people dying then aging backwards until they were back to being a baby... then brought back to Earth ...FAB! I loved everything about it! I loved so much I recommended it to most of people and literally forced my firends to read it!

As soon as I started reading it I just knew that I will like it. The atmosphere, the immaculate writing, the charcters- they were all without doubt amazing. There was such simplicity and perfection that I was comletely captivated.

I love Liz. She's small and innocent. She still can't get hold of what's happening to her. Who can? She died. She was still young and desired to do so many wonderful and childful things. She wanted to live her life for just a tad bit longer.

However things in the story do look up as she discovers new likes, new feelings and new people. Liz is at a different world that has to be yet explored. I love Grabrielle's writing! I really hope to read more books by her! :)

So this is the UK cover of Bloodlines. As great as it is, I still prefer the US cover, it's so much more captivating and bright. But hey, the UK cover isn't that bad. I so cannot wait to read Bloodlines!
A Beautiful Evil by Kelley Keaton
This cover was released a few days ago and I really like it. It's really dark. The writing at the front goes with the other covers and the angel also makes it look even more mystififying!

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .
Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end

My Thoughts
*SPOILERS!*
Within the first few pages I was already engrossed in Clary's world. The main reason had to be because there was intense action right in the first few pages. Of course, this then kept me engaged in events that followed.

Clary, the protagonist is awesome. Seriously, I love her. And her hair? Clare's amazing description made me want her like that. So beautiful and rich... how cool!

Very unpredictable. I didn't know who Clary was going to be with. I found it quite frustrating seeing as many of the times I can tell from the moment any guys are introduced. I even looked at the last few pages and I was so convinced it was Alec. How wrong was I. Jace.

I love Jace. He is so hero material and one of my favourite YA favourite hotties!! I love his witty, funny and sexy character. Jace and Clary fought so much that you wouldn't even think they'll ever be together. The first kiss was perfection!!! How cute! :)

The fact that Jace and Clary were supposedly 'siblings' made me NEED the next book1 Like OMG! They kissed as well :O
Action, suspense, and romance well everything was found in this book. So full of energy and awesomeness... this is a must read! I so can't wait to read City of Ashes!!!!!

How far should romance go in YA books?

6
COM
Disscussion time!
In YA books today, nearly every book you read has romance in it. Well, if it didn't it'll probably will not appeal to everyone. There probably will be just be just a few odd parts like a bit of kissing and cuddling here and there or it an get extremely intense by the minute leading on to well sex.

Many YA books, are wholly just based on love. Let's bring Anna and the French Kiss, I just love love this book seriously. The romance between And and Etienne is pure love and just tender. It doesn't go as far as sex but it's so enjoyable to read. Just the way they act toward each other displays their romance and its so cute! *sigh*

Let's move on to Twilight. Well come on, it had to be mentioned! That's one of the most popular paranormal romances there is. I'm a big Twilight fan and yeah I really enjoy reading the books. So, in Breaking Dawn, that's where Bella and Edward do 'it'. I remember when some parents discovered this they most certainly did not like their children reading it. But, Meyer did not go into detail if you know what I mean. It's like one of those movie moments when a girl or boy are in a bedroom and one of them go to slowly close the door. LOL.

Because this is teenage books we're talking about I just don't think that it should be very into detail like going through the love step by step driven by pure intensity. Intensity is okay but not when it goes step by step. I'm just really stressing on the step by step! :P I would give some examples so ya'll know what I'm talking about but I really don't want to offend any authors. I'm not saying romance is overratted. I'm a sucker for romance books but I think there should be some limits? Well that's what I think...

A hidden truth.
Mortal enemies.
Doomed love. Marked as special at an early age, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. But she longs for freedom to make her own choices. When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger saves her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki—a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.

Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will's dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away—if it dies she will be left as a human forever. She'll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.
Mythical powers and breathtaking romance ignite in this story of a girl who defies all expectations and whose love crosses an ancient divide.

My Thoughts
I was really looking forward to reading Firelight. The cover, and the synopsis both had me hooked. So when I finally read Firelight, I wasn't disappointed. It was a very enjoyable read.

Will's and Jacinda's first encounter was weirdly nice. Will is a hunter hunting it's prey- the draki, a mythical dragon, that just happened to be Jacinda. In that meeting, Will studied Jacinda gazing at her and just thinking how beautiful she is. Jacinda was left confused. I really connected with Will right there and them. It simply has to be because he didn't kill her and obviously his kind heart and loving nature. Who needs bad boys?

Jacinda and Will encounter many problems, but struggle through them all the same. There is a hell of a lot of action and suspense finely lined with that touch of romance. Like the time when Will discovered Jacinda's true form but he still continued to love her the same, was sweet but very weird for me personally... I just can't picture it!

I guess that's what Jordan wanted to show, a sense of acceptance whatever you are. With Jordan's fine writing, Firelight had me craving for more! Can't wait for Vanish!

Yet someone is waiting for her. He wants to protect her - and more if she'll let him.
But who can she trust amidst the secrets and lies? A killer is out there - and Amy has nowhere to hide...

My Thoughts
As soon as I read the blurb of this book I just knew it was something special. Even the cover looks alluring. I've really started to love dystopian book and as soon as I heard of Across the Universe, I knew it would be a book I would enjoy.

I loved Elder instantly and just as much disliked Eldest. They were two completely different people. Elder was great. Caring, kind and lovable he can as just be a great hero. And, It was really nice to see everything through his eyes giving us a glimpse in how he saw everything.

Especially when it came to Amy. Revis most certainly portrayed her image beautifully with such simplicity. Amy was a unique character to the book and when her perspective of things came through it made everything even more thriller.

I extremely loved the whole murder mystery thing going on and the question of who it could be with many people of possibilities. I had my suspicions and I was relieved when I found who it was.

No event was more shocking than the end. That was the point where everything came through and made the book even more awesome. I loved reading this and cannot wait to read more books by Revis!

Feisty teen Nora Grey somehow survived the crises of Hush, Hush!, but dangers just as frightening loom in this standalone sequel. Patch, her guardian angel and love interest, appears to have a dark side and a wandering eye. Worse yet, he seems intent on obstructing Nora as she hunts for the truth behind her father's mysterious death. Even better than the first

My Thoughts
I LOVED Crescendo.
The great thing about it is that it always kept me guessing. So obviously, I had a very stong feelingthat Patch is one of the bad guys, but then you find out he's not. And well, the whole thing gets pretty shocking.

Very unpredicable. There are some parts of the book that I totally didn't expect at all... I was SHOCKED! You wouldn't possibly think it would happen. I'm just sitting there staring at the page with my mouth hanging open!

The whole idea of prologues is that you don't get them most of the time like at all. But then, thankfully while reading the book I finally got what the prologue was about and which characters are in there. This is also another one of those shocking moments :O

Fitzpatrick sure knows how to write to engage. In Crescendo, all the moments with Nora and Patch are very much exciting. You can feel the electricity between them and you'd just want them to be together.

I love Patch. Seriously, he sounds so down to earth! Except, The one thing I didn't like about Patch is that he wears a cap. I mean come on! That kind of blurs the image a bit... but Patch is still hot :L

It seemed like the ending was going to end simple with Patch and Nora but then there's a cliffhanger... and I don't really like them. And boy is it a humdinger. Now I need to now what happens. I just have to wait a loooooong time for the next book, Silence!

In Alyson Noel’s most darkly seductive Immortals novel yet, Ever fights for control of her body, her soul—and the timeless true love she’s been chasing for centuries.

But with Haven drunk on her new powers and acting recklessly, she poses the ultimate threat—exposing their secret world to the outside. As Ever struggles to keep the Immortals hidden, it only propels Haven closer to the enemy—Roman and his evil companions
At the same time, Ever delves deeper into dark magick to free Damen from Roman’s power. But when her spell backfires, it binds her to the one guy who’s hell-bent on her destruction. Now there’s a strange, foreign pulse coursing through her, and no matter what she does, she can’t stop thinking about Roman—and longing for his touch. As she struggles to resist the fiery attraction threatening to consume her, Roman is more than willing to take advantage of her weakened state…and Ever edges closer and closer to surrender.
Frantic to break the spell before its too late, Ever turns to Jude for help, risking everything she knows and loves to save herself—and her future with Damen …

My Thoughts
** spoiler alert **Dark Flame wasn't as good as the last book however I am really engaged in this series. Finally, real ACTION was displayed in this book. Now that the antidote has been broken, what's going to happen now? It's a wonder how Damen and Ever are going to be together.

I actually thought that Ever had a thing for Jude with her running to him with every problem she has and using the excuse that Damen won't like whatever she did. When Jude said he 'loved' her I fell of my chair! How dare he? It was always Damen and Ever that are meant to be. It was a big relief when she dissed him, and told Damen everything. It was about time too!

Haven is really starting to annoy me. Frustrating! She doesn't understand the concept of magyic and she acts like she knows everything about it. And how can I possible forget ...I don't even understand what she sees in Roman.

The ending of the book really got me going and I can't wait to read Night Star. And... Oh yeah, Roman dies. :D

_____________
Second book to Divergent is titled

INSURGENT
Heres what Veronica had to say on her blog:
This post really wouldn't be complete without a dictionary definition, so here it is:
INSURGENT.
Origin: 1755–65; < Latin insurgent- (stem of insurgÄ“ns ) present participle of insurgere: to get up, ascend, rebel.

1. a person who rises in forcible opposition to lawful authority, especially a person who engages in armed resistance to a government or to the execution of its laws; rebel.
2. a member of a section of a political party that revolts against the methods or policies of the party.
3. one that acts contrary to the established leadership (as of a political party, union, or corporation) or its decisions and policies
4. (international law) a person or group that rises in revolt against an established government or authority but whose conduct does not amount to belligerency
Not all of those definitions are equally applicable to the book-- some are more spot-on than others. But I won't tell you which ones yet.
Now all I have to do is finish! Back to the writing cave!

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger. . . .
Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever

My Thoughts
The main reason I picked up this book was because about vampires. At that time, vampires were the 'hot topic'. I am so glad I did as the book was so so good well not good but extremely amazing! I just loved it!

Rose a total action type of  girl. She's ready for almost anything. I love how she loves her best friend Lissa and they share a strong bond. Lissa is a princess and Rose is acting as her guardian. Because they both ran away from school, they were on the run and well you can guess they got caught and they were forced to head back.

Come on, they had to right and it's good they did anyways or Rose and Dimitri would not have met. Dimitri is Rose's mentor. Because she missed two years of training she had to fill them in... with ONE ON ONE lessons with Dimitri. Those lessons were like the best! The chemistry between them was way overboard. Dimitri didn't want to do anything as he's seven years older than her and her mentor. But no need to fret! They do kiss! LOL. Rose and Dimitri are the perfect couple. I LOVE them!

What I hate: Dimitri! Noooo not Dimitri! No waaaaaay! I just hate how he denies his love for Rose when it so totally obvious. :(

My most favourite quote of this book is when Dimitri says something to Rose and yeah, you got it! It's a heart to heart thing! Dimitri Says: "No. If I let myself love you, I won't throw myself in front of her. I'll throw myself in front of you." How fricken sweet? :D

As a whole, the book is incredibly gripping and this series is without doubt one of my favourites. Richelle Mead writes like a dream so this book is a definete MUST READ!

What would you choose first? Books vs Movies!

Discussion time!
The other day I was re-reading Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling for I don't know maybe the hundredth time. I absolutely love Harry Potter seriously, it's like my bestest bestest series ever. Who can't like it come on! What's not to like? It is pure awesomness. No I'm not blabbering. So back to the point,  It got me thinking then how did I start reading Harry Potter?

I've watched all the Harry Potter series so far and so I'm eagerly awaiting the next one. And so that's the thing! After I watched a couple of the films it will only from then on that I started reading Harry Potter. No. Actually. I know exactly when I started reading the books, after the last book in the series was released! How maddening can that get? I just love to be one of those people that are like one of the first to read a book. Naturally, whenever I recieve any ARC's I literally do my own happy dance! So you see, after I read it I was bit down having to be one of those last people on Earth reading Harry Potter. It's not that I never knew about Harry Potter! Nooo, I've always heard about the Harry Potter books but it wasn't something I looked into. How dumb was I then!? I was most definitely missing out on a whole load. It's an ah-mazing series! You just gotta love it.

Then there's Avalon High by Meg Cabot. I love loved this book well not as much as Harry Potter but it's definitely one of my all time favourites. (Review can be found here). I read it like ages ages ago, then you'll guess I would be jumping about with joy when I heard that a movie has been released. I'm not a big fan of Disney produced movies but hey it's Avalon High we're talking about! And so I go to watch it and then I'm there watching it and do you know what? I did not like it one bit. Nada. Glitch. Saying no more!

Back to Harry Potter, I only started reading it after I watched a few of the movies. The movie got me reading it but the book is way better. In Avalon High, I watched the movie because of the book but the movie wasn't up to it's standards.

So now, what is the real question, I mean the real real question? But wait, it cannot be a single question there's so just so many when it comes to this! Are the books always better than the movies? Does a movie lack in anything that the book doesn't? When will you decide to watch a movie before  reading the book or vice versa? And so the list goes on and on...
Actually, I was wrong. The actual most important question of all is...
What do you think?

Avalon High seems like a typical high school, attended by typical students: There's Lance, the jock. Jennifer, the cheerleader. And Will, senior class president, quarterback, and all-around good guy.
But not everybody at Avalon High is who they appear to be ... not even, as new student Ellie is about to discover, herself. What part does she play in the drama that is unfolding? What if the bizarre chain of events and coincidences she has pieced together means -- as with the court of King Arthur -- tragedy is fast approaching Avalon High? Worst of all, what if there's nothing she can do about it?
My Thoughts
After reading, Arthur high king of Britain, I really enjoy reading books revolving around the medieval times. This is where Avalon high comes in.  It's one of my favourites and so I really loved reading it.

Will and Ellie are adorable. I just knew that the first time they met; they will need to be together. The fire and intensity is there and its really fun reading the times between them. It's great that what they have is not the love at first sight kind of thing thing but like, 'I've seen you before' kinda thing. Freakishly awesome!

Usually, I’m not a big fan of fighting and killing. But In Avalon High I really enjoyed all the action. There’s like this element of suspense and thrill wanting to know what will happen and how the story will end. Especially the big 'happening' at the end will Marco, the twist in the story was great! And Marco's face? Priceless!

I loved the ending. I like the fact that the book finished in good terms. I was a bit disappointed when I found out there’s only two books in the series. But there's something I can say for definite is that, this is a book that I can read over and over again without feeling not a bit of boredom!

COM
A Need for Book News is a feature I thought of doing displaying recent book related news. I've received so many emails to post new trailers, new events, well just awesome bookish news and I didn't have the faintest idea how to post it all. So here it. Oh and other reason? I've noticed all I ever post now is book reviews, like how boring can that get! So I apologize for such limited content. Hopefully, I'll think of some pretty awesome things to post about! For now, Let's get back to A Need for Book News  ;D
COVER ALERT

Don't you just love, love both these covers! Personally, I didn't expect the Bloodrose, the third novel in the NIGHTSHADE series, to look like this- it's very different to the other covers but yet very awesome too! I love how in the Wings of the Wicked cover, you can tell it's an Angelfire novel by the writing and oh I love all the white in it...
What do you think?

TRAILERS
So I know that the trailer was released like AGES ago... but I just have to share my thoughts and for those who didn't watch but which I somewhat doubt! Don't you think there's sure a hell of a lot kissing and less of the action LOL ...Bella doesn't look that much of a bride to tbh but does Edward look HOT! And did you see the bed brake! Very funny. I loved the trailer. Total awesomeness ;D

Author Interview- Lauren Kate

What inspired you into writing books particularly about paranormal romance?
I’ve been writing love stories for as long as I’ve been writing. To me, the most complicated romances make the most interesting narratives, so I’m always looking fornew obstacles to throw in my lovers’ paths. When I was getting my masters degree in fiction, I was studying biblical narratives and came across a line in Genesis (6:1-4), which describes a group of angels who fell in love with mortal women. Putting this reference together with a mention in Isaiah and another in Psalm 82, biblical scholarsconclude that these angels were actually cast out of Heaven for their lust. means—you could say—that these angels chose love over Heaven. Isn’t that a great set up for an incredibly complicated romance? I started thinking about what kind of mortal girl it would take to attract an angel’s attention. And what it would be like for her to find herself in this position. What kind of baggage would an angel have? What would her very over-protective parents think? From there, this whole world unfurled in my head with fallen angels, demons, reincarnation, and the war between good and evil all battling
for a piece of the action.

How have you made your books different from other books?
The most compelling thing to me about the Fallen books has to do with the rich history of angelology I drew from to create my own mythology. I spent a long time researching to come up with the world of these fallen angels and I think the story stands out because of all that history flowing through it.
My favorite kinds of stories are the ones with humor and heart that take me on some kind of unexpected journey. I try to write the kinds of books I like to read, so ideally, that would be the way I’d describe my own stories.
Is Fallen, Torment and Passion going to be made into a movie?
The rights have been optioned by Disney and they’re currently working on a final draft of the script. We’re shooting for a release date in 2013.

If you could choose the people played in the movies who would you think would best
suit the role of Daniel, Luce and Cam?
I have never been able to come up with a good Daniel, though I am constantly on the hunt. It’s beginning to feel like my Moby Dick. For Luce, I love Lucy Hale—and for Cam, I love Ed Westwick.

What book are you currently reading?
I’m usually reading several books at once because I like the conversations they have between themselves while sitting around in my mind at the same time. Right now it’s The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall, Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace, and an ARC called Harbinger by a new author named Sarah Wilson Etienne, whose book is due out in 2012. So far, all three are wonderful.

Before Luce and Daniel met at Sword & Cross, before they fought the Immortals, they had already lived many lives. And so Luce, desperate to unlock the curse that condemns their love, must revisit her past incarnations in order to understand her fate. Each century, each life, holds a different clue. But Daniel is chasing her throughout the centuries before she has a chance to rewrite history. How many deaths can one true love endure? And can Luce and Daniel unlock their past in order to change their future?

My Thoughts
As soon as I received the manuscript through the post, I didn't waste any time in not reading Passion. With that awesome hell of an ending to Torment, I just had to know how the story will know be leading on. And let me just say this, I was not disappointed. :)

Luce makes one of the most important decisions of her life, as she travels through her past lives, searching for something or anything to tell her more about who she is. Each past life was uniquely fascinating and wonderfully complied. I especially loved how Kate introduced chapters with Daniel's point of view too. It was great getting into his head, sharing his thoughts, frustrations and difficulties.

Daniel is following Luce. Each time he fails in reaching her. He talks to his past self hoping, yearning on some news on his beloved. Okay so call me weird but I find this really funny. Sorry but it's like the's talking to himself. Like imagine that :L ....Anyways, Luce, meanwhile sees her past life Daniel. At first she keeps her distance but then her eventually heart wins as she goes upfront him and takes things further.

OMG. Bill. How can I possibly forget Bill? He's a new character introduced and it's just what the book needed. He accompanies Luce on her journeys. But, he can be really annoying at times. Needless to say, I loved his character. He's very funny, sarky and well mysterious.

Kate takes Passion to a entire new lievel, it's very different from Fallen and Torment however, equally awesome nevertheless.  Her writing, style, well everything about this book is really magical. I absolutely loved reading Passion. I cannot wait to read Rapture! :D

Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris—until she meets Étienne St. Claire: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home.
As winter melts into spring, will a year of romantic near-misses end with the French kiss Anna—and readers—have long awaited?

My Thoughts
This is now one of my FAVOURITE books! I COMPLETELY LOVED IT!
From the very first page, Stephenie kept me completely engaged in a world revolving around romance, humour and suspense.

St.Claire or more preferable Etienne is so very down-to-earth! The way he is described simply shows complete hotness. I really love the relationship he and Anna have, especially with all the teasing. It is soooo obvious that they LOVE each other and Etienne is too blind to see through it.

The one thing I really loved was how their love grew by time. It was not the usual love at first sight idea, though Anna couldn't take her eyes off him when she first met him. They had their share of moments and each and every one is something to saviour.

This love story is definitely one of a kind. It's not overdone and it so does not drag on. It's very realistic and all the characters have something special about them. Their personalities come through perfectly and that gives the story more of a spark.

I absolutely loved reading Anna and the French Kiss. It just so frickin awesome! I am really really looking forward to reading more books by Stephenie Perkins! And yes, I CAN'T WAIT to read Lola and the boy next door! :D

For Nick Pardee and Silla Kennicot, the cemetery is the center of everything.
Nick is a city boy angry at being forced to move back to the nowhere town of Yaleylah, Missouri where he grew up. He can’t help remembering his mom and the blood magic she practiced – memories he’s tried for five years to escape. Silla, though, doesn’t want to forget; her parents’ apparent murder-suicide left her numb and needing answers. When a book of magic spells in her dad’s handwriting appears on her doorstep, she sees her chance to unravel the mystery of their deaths.
Together they plunge into the world of dark magic, but when a hundred-year-old blood witch comes hunting for the bones of Silla’s parents and the spell book, Nick and Silla will have to let go of everything they believe about who they are, the nature of life and death, and the deadly secrets that hide in blood

My Thoughts
I only picked up this book because of the cover. Guilty! I just have to judge it by it's cover. But anyways, I adore it. It's so nice!
Silla has lost her both her parents. She found both her parents shot and it was 'reported' that her dad killed her mother before killing himself. You cannot just help but sympathise her. She feels alone, distraught and helpless. That probably was how she found her dad's journal where she discovers something magical.

When Silla goes to the cemetery to preform her first spell, she comes across Nick. I knew from there on that something or the other was bound to happen with them. It was expected but I couldn't wait to see how things will grow between them.

Silla and Nick are perfect for each other. Nick a newbie at town, starts at the same school. He isn't like most guys, he wants to know what's happening with Silla and how she'd holding up. Definitely caring. I loved reading their little moments. Nick is great!

I enjoyed reading Blood Magic, however at times I did think that the blood scenes were a bit to much. I totally cringed when that rabbit got killed but I guess that's maybe what the author wanted. I didn't expect their to be another book after this but there is another one that follows in the series of The Blood Journals. Great!
